The country has been on lockdown since the month of March, and it would be expected that Corona virus pandemic should have decreased by now, rather it is increasing. The reality of the situation is that educational institutions like other institutions have been on lockdown and the way forward is online education.

Some institutions are exploring most effective e-learning applications to make learning accessible to students in the comfort and safety of their homes. In other words, there is rise of online learning in this covid-19 lockdown.

In a situation where a student is taking online lessons or reading online,he is bound to prepare for exams.

HOW TO PLAN FOR YOUR AT-HOME SCHEDULE AND STILL PREPARE FOR EXAMS EFFECTIVELY

SET UP A SCHEDULE

The first thing you are to do is set up a schedule in form of a timetable for the weekly or monthly  timeline on what you want to do or study. In what you want to study, include how many chapters or questions to cover each day. Tick each day done completely and this will motivate you to study more.

FOLLOW A ROUTINE

Make sure you follow your routine strictly so as not to leave some things undone. Cleaning, cooking, siesta, studying etc.

SET UP A LEARNING SPACE

Set up a proper learning space for yourself. It is not advisable to lie on the bed to study because you might fall asleep. Besides, it doesn’t portray seriousness.

GATHERING KNOWLEDGE FROM DIFFERENT PLACES

You do not have to rely on the internet and your present textbooks to add up to your knowledge, you can also look for old textbooks that cover what you are reading on. Don’t limit yourself when it comes to knowledge, there can never be too much of it.

JOT DOWN NOTES

One of the effective ways of studying is jotting down notes. You can use a coloured pen to write down key words or use asterisk on it. While taking down the note,make sure you do not copy down exactly as it is in the text book, but rather summarize what you have studied in your own words.

OBSERVE A BREAK

Take breaks in between studying to walk and stretch your legs and possibly allow your eye to rest from focusing only on your books. You can also drink water or milk during the break.

CONNECT WITH FRIENDS

It is never a bad thing to connect with friends or create peer to peer groups on WhatsApp or telegram or any other social media handle to share ideas on what you have learnt and also get to hear their contributions. But be sure you are disciplined enough not to be checking other messages apart from the one about your studies cos you might be distracted and start chatting on other trivial or unrelated things. Relevant updates and information such as notes, syllabus, exams guidelines or preparation tips can also be shared.

WORK ON EXAM STRESS

This is the perfect time to work on exam stress or anxiety, and you can do this by studying and attempting difficult questions. Also read to understand, not just memorizing. You have enough time during this period to read to your understanding and while reading, make some notes.

A GOOD SLEEP

A good sleep helps your brain and helps you focus and understand better when you wake up. This means you shouldn’t stay for long hours studying without taking a break to sleep and rest your brain.
